1967, March 23  Mike Todd, Bill Lame, Steve Chenoweth, Floyd Ortega, and Ron Bradley.  Basketball coach Jim Sturgeon loaded the seniors from that year’s squad into his car for a celebratory trip to Los Angeles. Arriving late at night, Sturgeon had secured lodging at a friend’s house in San Dimas. The following day, Good Friday, was spent on the beach in Laguna. The day concluded with a foray to the Pike Amusement Park in Long Beach and its famous wooden roller coaster. The next day featured a tour of Hollywood and concluded with the group going to the Hollywood Palladium to see the Teen-age Fair that included a huge concert featuring The Who, Cream, Smokey, the Rascals and more. Arriving back at our guest quarters quite late, some of us somehow managed to wake up in time the next morning to make it to Easter Sunrise Service at the Hollywood Bowl, a really big deal back in those days.
